Governor Şahin’s Message for World Environment Day, 5th Of JuneParticularly in the last century, the Earth has been greatly harmed due to rapid industrialization, unplanned urbanization, negative effects of technology, and exploitation of the natural resources. As a result, it has confronted with problems threatening the future of human race, such as global warming, climate change, drought, and biodiversity loss.
It’s the joint responsibility of all the nations of the world to react against the global environmental threats and act, considering all the people living on earth. At the same time, present issues could be diminished by providing systematic environmental education for individuals, in order to raise awareness among them. Let us not forget that the steps we can and should take for the environment would also be the best investment for the future of our children and the most beautiful legacy we could ever leave to them.
I would like to congratulate the World Environment Day of all our citizens, wishing that one day our children will live in a world where natural resources are run without harming the ecological balance, renewable energy resources are used more, and the environment is inhabitable.
